The heavy silicone oil tamponade with a unique molecular design:
The unique heavy silicone oil with a molecular design endotamponade that is highly resistant to emulsification. It’s medium viscosity is ideal for inferior pathology.
Densiron Xtra is a physical mix of both Siluron Xtra and the patented compound F6H8. F6H8 acts in a similar way to a thinning agent, reducing density to make removal easier. Densiron Xtra has a mid-range viscosity of 1,200 mPas without an increased tendency to disperse, so the application and removal of the endotamponade is ideal. It is easy to inject and is 25G compatible. Ideal for interior pathologies, it removes proliferative milieu in the lower part of the retina. It also avoids unpleasant constraints for the patient (“head-down-position”).
Highly resistant against emulsification (Caramoy A., Schröder S., Fauser S., Kirchhof B. (2010) In vitro emulsification assessment of new silicone oils. Br J Ophthalmol 94, 509-512).
Use
Densiron® Xtra is used as a temporary tamponade after operative treatment of severe retinal detachment, particularly for:
Phakos vitrectomy lenses are manufactured from single-use plastic that are so beautifully crafted they’re like looking through glass.
