Geuder Tomark Corneal Marker

Brand: Geuder

Description

The TOMARK, from Geuder, makes it possible to indicate the final torus position on the cornea. The indication is done while patient is sitting upright to prevent faulty markings due to cyclotorsion. The high-precision marking is the basis for best vision prognosis.

  • When toric IOLs are implanted, the exact match between the IOL’s astigmatism axis and torus is decisive for the refractive result and patient satisfaction.
  • The TOMARK axis marker enables direct marking of the final torus position. The marking is carried out on the seated patient in order to exclude cyclorotation errors.
  • The high precision of the marking creates the prerequisite for the optimal visual prognosis. TOMARK also makes cornea marking easy, quick and safe in the hands of the assistant staff.
  • The adjustable cornea marker can be used flexibly on the slit lamp or mobile in combination with the hand-held pendulum instrument.
  • Due to the cyclorotation, the axis marking is afflicted with an error of up to 11 ° when the patient is lying down. TOMARK, on the other hand, allows precise marking on the seated patient, which excludes the cause of the error.
  • A deviation of just 15 ° from the calculated axis can result in up to 50% loss of the astigmatism correction. By directly setting the angle with an accuracy of 5 °, TOMARK enables exact marking of the calculated cylinder axis.

By briefly pressing on an ink pad, the TOMARK cornea marker takes up enough colour. In many cases, for the sake of patient comfort, there is no need for a lid lock.

At the slit lamp , the cornea marker is simply inserted into the holder of the tonometer and adjusted to the horizontal axis line of the tonometer holder.

The horizontal can also be adjusted on the hand-held pendulum instrument after attaching the cornea marker.

The angle to be marked is simply set on the easily readable scale. Looking through the cornea marker simplifies the centered marking on the cornea. After just 5 seconds of contact with the cornea, TOMARK leaves a very clearly recognszable mark.
